Janelle McClure is a staff attorney in the Washington, DC, office of the National Health Law Program, where she focuses on promoting access to quality health care for low-income older adults.
Janelle brings to NHeLP several years of legislative experience, most recently in the office of U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow. As both a legislative fellow and legislative aide for Senator Stabenow, Janelle advised the Senator on health care and child welfare issues, including laws such as the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid.
Prior to working for Senator Stabenow, Janelle served as a tax and health legal fellow and a legislative correspondent for U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill. She also worked as a public health law fellow at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, where she tracked and analyzed the establishment of state health insurance marketplaces.
Janelle is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, from which she received both a B.S. in business administration and a J.D. While in law school, Janelle interned at the AIDS Legal Council of Chicago and at the WilmerHale Legal Services Center at Harvard Law School.
Janelle enjoys baking and is working to learn American Sign Language.
