Marc Fleischaker, Chairman of Arent Fox, Joins Board of Major National Health Care Organization

April 9, 2009 – The National Health Law Program (NHeLP) announces that Marc Fleischaker has joined its board of directors. NHeLP is a not-for-profit law firm that works to secure health rights for those in need. Board members are active in NHeLP projects and initiatives to improve access to quality health care and enforce legal rights to health.
Fleischaker is the Chair of Washington DC-based Arent Fox LLP, where he maintains an active legal practice in a number of areas, including trade association representation, environmental law, antitrust law, litigation, and civil rights law. He chairs the Nonprofit Initiative at Arent Fox, and has always carved out substantial time for public service.
"NHeLP has nearly 40 years of experience working with Congress, in the courts, and with grassroots and advocacy groups," Fleischaker said. "Its lawyers have played a leadership role in health care issues, both on the national stage, as well as in all 50 states. I look forward to being a part of this dynamic organization that helps so many people in all corners of the country.”

Fleischaker has chaired the Appleseed Foundation, the National Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs. He has also participated in many other nonprofit activities, including serving on the board of directors for groups such as the Council for Court Excellence. Fleischaker also holds membership in the Federal City Council, the Economic Club of Washington, and the American Society of Association Executives. He has published approximately 30 articles in legal and other periodicals, and has spoken extensively before bar and employer groups. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in the East.
